The 998cc DOHC engine is an ultra-compact 3-cylinder, 12-valve layout, delivering breathtaking acceleration all the way up to its thrilling 10,500 rpm red line – in fact, it creates a whole new class in the SxS world. What’s more, the heat-treated conrods are designed to take further race-tuning – whenever you’re ready for even more power!
For this advanced design, the radiator was moved from the front of the vehicle to high up on the rear cargo area to avoid mud clogging. The twin hi-volume radiator fans provide a massive airflow to keep engine temperature under control in all conditions.
The 5-Speed sequential manual transmission is for the driver whose riding style demands full control over clutch and gearbox engagement. Manual shifting in combination with clutch engagement lets you put the power and torque exactly where you want it - when you want it. The 5-speed sequential transmission is up to 20% more efficient than most automatic CVT's.
The beefy, hydraulically actuated multi-disc clutch system with torque limiter is foot-operated, for a light consistent feel.
The driver and passenger sit in a fighter-style cockpit equipped with comfortable bucket seats that add to the feeling of security. The ergonomic layout puts all the controls close at hand and there is a clear view through the sports steering wheel to the instruments - analogue tachometer, digital speedometer and warning lights.
The front hood design incorporates a special mounting space for the installation of night-riding LED lights and despite the dominant radiator location, we’ve found room for a small cargo area at the rear. The ROPS has a straight top bar which not only looks sleeker, but also improves forward visibility when climbing. The extra cross bar at the rear adds to the overall structural strength.
The 29" 8-ply Big Horn tyres - mounted on 14" bead lock aluminium wheels - are more durable, increase ground clearance and are ready to tackle any terrain. The FOX® Podium 2,5 shocks are especially calibrated to match.
